| View in browser Hello ANZBP members and colleagues, In this newsletter, you will find an important update from AWA/ANZBP National Biosolids Conference 2023, our new corporate member, as well as the latest news and publications on biosolids.       ANZBP National Biosolids Conference 2023 8 Feb 2023 - 9 Feb 2023 \| Aerial, University of Technology, Sydney   Only one week until registration for the ANZBP National Biosolids Conference closes.   The conference will be held over two days with the theme Champions for Sustainability, focusing on key developments in the sector and focusing on the role each of us can play in a sustainable future. More information       ANZBP's New Member   ARC Training Centre for the Transformation of Australia's Biosolids Resource is funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Research Program with the mission to transform Australia’s biosolids resources, our vision and overarching goal is to deliver world-class and innovative technological solutions and knowledge, to train the next generation of biosolids practitioners in cutting-edge, transformational approaches, and to guide best practice in the biosolids sector.       Biosolids in the News Waste Not, Want Not Sewage is a vital part of a circular economy—and we have the tech to make good use of it. Why don’t we? Against the grain: What can be done about microplastics in soils and digestate? Microplastics are everywhere: We know that much. But should we be worried? What can we do about it? Some of the speakers at Aqua Enviro’s European Biosolids and Bioresources Conference, in late November, presented findings from a project aiming to understand the levels of this contaminant in compost and AD digestate. Cemex inks agreement to convert Manila Water's biosolids into green energy International cement manufacturer Cemex on Tuesday signed an agreement with Manila Water Corporation to produce sustainable and clean energy from organic matter recovered from the latter's treatment plants.
